With implementing Ruheene's quiz templates, the comments we keep getting from our clients are:
"These are MY PEOPLE! Who we're selling to, who's coming through my funnel, is exactly my ideal client. It's the people I've been trying to get to for years, and we've finally been able to get them!
I had the pleasure of working with Ruheene during the launch of Apple's iPhone 5. While the challenges of the project always seemed to escalate due to the ambitious delivery, Ruheene did a fantastic job of clear communication, keeping everything on track, and ultimately delivered everything ahead of schedule, even under a near-impossible deadline. Thank you Ruheene!

You know that feeling when you have what feels like a million-dollar idea?
You're lying in bed at 2 AM, mind racing with possibilities. "This is it," you think. "This is the one that's going to change everything."
So you do what any reasonable person would do - you start building it. Or maybe you ask around for validation first. Your friends think it's great! Your family is supportive! Even that random person on Reddit said it sounded cool!
Six months later, you're staring at something nobody wants to buy.
Sound familiar? Yeah, you’re not the only one.
The problem isn't that you had a bad idea. Most validation methods are like bad lovers - they tell you what you want to hear instead of what you need to know.
Let's be honest about the classic validation approaches:
Asking friends and family: They're emotionally invested in supporting you, not giving honest market feedback. Personal relationships create bias that skews results. They'll tell you what they think you want to hear, not what the market actually needs.
ChatGPT and generic AI tools: They're programmed to be encouraging cheerleaders, not brutal business advisors. These tools are basically that friend who says "you can do anything!" when what you really need is someone to tell you your idea has holes. They can't distinguish between "interesting concept" and "viable business" because they're designed to be supportive, not realistic about market dynamics.
Online surveys: Hypothetical questions produce hypothetical answers. People consistently overestimate their likelihood to purchase when there's no real commitment required. Survey responses are free to give, so they don't reflect actual buying behavior.
Market research reports: These show market size, not market opportunity for your specific solution. Knowing that the productivity software market is worth billions doesn't tell you if anyone wants your particular approach to solving the problem.
Building an MVP: Once you've invested time and resources into development, you're no longer validating - you're hoping. The sunk cost fallacy kicks in, making it harder to objectively assess whether people actually want what you've built.
What you need is validation that actually predicts whether people will hand over their hard-earned money. And that requires a completely different approach.
Before we dive into AI tools, let's talk about manual validation methods that actually work. These take more effort, but they give you real insights.
Stop leading with your solution. Start with the problem.
Instead of: "Would you use an app that tracks your daily habits?"
Ask: "What's the most frustrating part of trying to build new habits?"
Instead of: "Do you like this feature?"
Ask: "Walk me through how you handled this last week."
Let people tell you about their world first. You might discover they don't actually have the problem you think they have.
Follow the money. If people aren't currently spending money trying to solve this problem, they probably won't spend money on your solution either.
Look for:
Terrible existing solutions people pay for anyway
Time-consuming workarounds people have created
Adjacent products they're using to solve related problems
If you can't find evidence of people spending money on this problem area, that's a red flag.
This is the ultimate validation test: Can you get people to give you money before you build anything?
Create a simple landing page describing your solution and see if people will:
Join a waitlist
Pre-order
Pay for early access
Refer their friends
If you can't generate interest in the idea of your solution, the actual product won't magically be more appealing.
Your solution should feel like a fire extinguisher to someone whose hair is on fire.
Good sign: "OMG when can I get this? This would save me hours every week!"
Bad sign: "That's neat. I might try it sometime."
Lukewarm responses kill businesses. You want people interrupting you to ask when they can buy it.
Manual validation works, but it's time-consuming and requires specific skills. This is where AI should be on the top of the game, right?
Well... it depends on which AI you're using.
Let's talk about the elephant in the room. You've probably asked ChatGPT about your business idea. We all have.
Here's what typically happens:
You: "What do you think about my app that connects dog owners with people who want to pet dogs for stress relief?"
ChatGPT: "This is a fascinating and innovative concept! What a unique approach to wellness and pet sharing! There could definitely be a market for this type of service..."
[Hint: it isn’t, and we’re pretty sure there couldn’t.]
ChatGPT has a massive validation problem: it's programmed to be encouraging. It's like having a cheerleader instead of a business advisor.
Why this happens:
ChatGPT is trained to be helpful and positive
It avoids being discouraging or negative
It doesn't understand real market dynamics
It can't tell the difference between "cool idea" and "profitable business"
Real example: We asked ChatGPT about the idea above: "I'm planning to start a business where people can rent pets for stress relief. The idea is to connect individuals who are feeling overwhelmed with local pet owners. What do you think?" ChatGPT's response? Pure enthusiasm! It called the idea "interesting and emotionally intelligent," started mapping out business models, and was ready to help me build the whole thing.
ChatGPT's encouraging responses can create a false sense of validation. Entrepreneurs get excited, start building, and only discover the underlying problems months later when they're a few months and thousands of dollars in, trying to find customers.
heyLevi: AI Validation That Actually Challenges Your Ideas
heyLevi is built differently - instead of cheerleading your ideas, heyLevi is designed to be that brutally honest friend who asks the hard questions you need to hear.
heyLevi's "Speak to Me" feature lets you have actual conversations with AI-powered customer avatars that are built from real data about your target market.
How it works:
heyLevi generates detailed customer avatars from your Product Playbooks that include demographic background, struggles, immediate tasks, pain points, dreams, goals, buying behaviors, lifestyles, values, and inner dialogue
Using heyLevi's "Speak to Me" feature, you can have actual conversations with these psychologically-detailed avatars to test your business ideas
The avatars respond based on their detailed psychological profile - not generic encouraging responses - giving you realistic customer reactions
If your idea has fatal flaws, the avatar will genuinely disengage or "hang up" on the conversation, just like a real customer would
Why this matters: You get authentic validation feedback that reveals real objections before you waste time building. Instead of ChatGPT's encouraging "this sounds great!" responses, you get realistic reactions based on actual customer psychology. When your idea has fundamental flaws, these avatars will genuinely disengage or give you brutally honest feedback like "there's no way I'm trusting you with that." This isn't about getting polite yes/no answers - it's about understanding the "who cares and why" behind your offers. You discover the real objections, concerns, and psychological barriers your actual customers will have, all before you've invested months building something that'll flop in the real world.
Here's where it gets really powerful. HeyLevi's Brainstorm AI doesn't just validate your idea - it helps you find your actual customers in real life.
The process:
Test your idea with customer avatars
Brainstorm AI analyzes the feedback and identifies patterns
It suggests where to find real people (aka your ideal customers) who match your responsive avatars
You get actionable steps for reaching real-world potential customers
This bridges the gap between AI validation and real-world testing in a way that generic AI tools like ChatGPT just can’t.
heyLevi's Offer Audit feature is like having a crystal ball for customer demand. It analyzes your business idea across four critical dimensions:
1. Outcome Score (Desirability): How badly do people want the result you're promising?
2. Believability Score: How much do they trust you can actually deliver?
3. Time Score: How quickly will they see results? (people hate waiting)
4. Work Score: How much effort is required from them?
These combine into a Perceived Value Score that predicts whether people will actually pay for your offering.
Real example: We tested a fictional Instagram growth course through the Offer Audit. It scored 210,000 in perceived value - promising, but the audit revealed people were skeptical about the course itself due to low believability score. That insight would have saved months of building the wrong solution.
The Brand Equity Factor: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Don't
Here's something most validation methods miss entirely: brand equity.
When Apple releases a flop, people shrug and keep buying iPhones. When a no-name startup releases a flop, they're done.
This is why validation isn't just about whether your idea is good - it's about whether YOU can execute it successfully in the market.
Questions to ask during validation:
Are you known for solving this type of problem?
Do people trust you in this space?
What's your unfair advantage here?
Why would people choose you over established competitors?
Understanding brand equity helps you validate not just your idea, but your ability to make it successful in the real world.
Here's how to combine manual and AI validation for maximum effectiveness:
Interview 10-15 potential customers about their current challenges
Look for existing solutions people are paying for
Test initial interest with simple landing pages
Document patterns in feedback
Upload your call transcripts from Phase 1 into heyLevi’s ‘Voice of Customer’ tab
Use heyLevi's Speak to Me feature to test your idea with customer avatars
Use Brainstorm AI to identify where to find real versions of these customers
Run your concept through the Offer Audit module
Find and talk to the real customers identified by Brainstorm AI
Test refined concepts with actual potential buyers
Validate pricing and positioning assumptions
Look for the "hair on fire" response level
Analyze patterns across manual and AI validation
Make honest assessment of market demand
Consider your brand equity and competitive advantages
Decide: build it, pivot it, or kill it
Successful validation is just the beginning. Here's what comes next:
Start building your minimum viable product
Keep gathering customer feedback throughout development
Plan your go-to-market strategy
Consider your brand positioning and competitive advantages
Pivot elements that aren't working
Double down on aspects that resonate
Test alternative approaches
Consider adjacent market opportunities
Celebrate saving yourself months of wasted effort
Document lessons learned for future ideas
Move on to your next concept with better validation skills
Remember: failed validation is successful learning- and simply a step in the right direction
Here's the thing about validation - it's not about getting permission to pursue your dreams. It's about building confidence that you're solving a real problem for real people who will actually pay for your solution.
Most validation methods are designed to make you feel good. What you need are methods designed to tell you the truth.
The most successful businesses are built by entrepreneurs who master the art of honest validation - who can tell the difference between what sounds good and what actually works.
Ready to see validation in action? We tested a bunch of wild business ideas using both manual methods and AI tools. The results will either inspire you or save you from making expensive mistakes.
